You’ve seen hundreds of productivity tips for managing the glut of emails you get every day so I won’t burden you with a bunch more…
Just 3 today
- Set Some Rules! Right-click on an email you want to keep but don’t want cluttering your inbox. Choose rules, then create rule

Now you can choose (or create) a folder to move the email and also move any future emails from that sender.
There are also very complex rules you can set but this simple one will get you started.
2. Use Your Flags! An email arrives that you need to follow up or complete a task. When you hover over the email item in your inbox you will see a flag appear in the upper right. When you click it turns red and adds this item to your task or to-do list.

As you work through your task list for the day you can mark it completed in tasks and the flag is changed to completed in your inbox.
3. Saved Searches. Did you know you can set up search folders based on specific criteria? This can be a huge time saver and only takes a few minutes to set up a few favorites.
Simply right-click on the Search Folders in the list under your inbox and create a new folder

These three tips will take about 10 minutes of your time today to implement and save countless hours in the weeks ahead.
